| Description: |
This is an intermediate-level trip for climbers who already know the basics of climbing and belaying (i.e. have climbed before, taken the intro class club night, and/or gone on the Pinnacle trip). We will be going overnight to Rumney, which is the closest sport climbing spot we have to Connecticut.
If you don't sport*, you are still welcome to come. We will set up some top ropes off the bolts if needed. (Sport climbing is when both the climber and the rope start on the ground, and as the climber goes up, s/he clips it into bolts that are already on the wall. If this concept is new to you, don't worry about it - you won't be doing it on this trip.)
If you do sport - awesome. It will be great.
*If you want to learn sport before the trip, Nate is giving a lesson at the gym on Monday, Oct 19th, at 6pm. Shoot me an email if you're interested. If the time doesn't work, we may be able to arrange some other time.
Because Rumney is about 4hr away, we will be going overnight. (Campsite cost and gas money included in tentative trip cost; food and rentals are not.) The plan is to leave Saturday evening just after dinner, stay at a campsite overnight, get an early start climbing on Sunday, and return by around 8pm. More details TBA, but start planning ahead for the weekend. As for excuses - think about it - when are you NOT going to have a paper/midterm coming up? |
