| Winter Camping in Southern Vermont |
| Description: |
We will depart from New Haven early on Saturday morning and drive to the southern part of the Long Trail in Vermont. We will hike to Griffith Lake, set up camp there, and if time allows climb one of the mountains in the area (Baker or Peru Peak). We will then return to camp, spend the night there, and hike out at an early hour the next morning to arrive back in New Haven by early to mid afternoon.
Please indicate whether you have a car we can use for travel purposes as well as your previous experience winter camping. Preference will be given to those participants with cars. |

Tents, stoves, cookware, and maps. We will provide Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast. |

Overnight backpack, sleeping bag (rated to at least 0 degrees), sleeping pad, and snow shoes (all of these can be rented). For other necessary personal gear see the Winter School gear page (http://www.yalemountaineering.org/wintergear.aspx). Please bring your own Saturday breakfast, lunch, and trail snacks. |
